James Michael Langley

James Michael Langley is one of the most noted and accomplished innovators in the field of institutional advancement. As such, he is also a highly sought after consultant, speaker, thinker and writer. Over the past three decades his visionary concepts and ability to incorporate best practices from numerous fields have produced surprising and dramatic results at several institutions. His most recent work is the monograph, "Fundraising for Presidents: A Guide" (available on the Academic Impressions website). In addition, he teaches advancement in the University of Pennsylvania's executive doctorate in higher education program.

After 30 years in higher education, he founded Langley Innovations, a strategic consulting and training firm, to help institutions and organizations dedicated to improving the human condition align their efforts with the most foresightful and principled philanthropists, and thereby advance a philanthropic revolution that has, in the past century, generated the greatest and most productive voluntary transfer of wealth in human history.

Previous to founding his own company, he held senior development positions at Georgetown University, University of California, San Diego, and Georgia Tech.

Renowned for his public speaking, Langley’s professional seminars are consistently described as the “best I have ever attended” by his peers and he has been awarded the Crystal Apple by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education for having received the highest possible evaluations from attendees at ten different conferences. Langley graduated magna cum laude from the University of Cincinnati where he was also selected to Phi Beta Kappa. He also received a master’s degree in history from the University of Cincinnati where he was awarded the prestigious Taft Fellowship. He is a Vietnam era veteran of the U.S. Army.

Timothy Edris

Timothy Edris is a team and leadership development specialist. He has over a decade of experience designing and implementing corporate and university training programs ranging from 10-person team-building sessions to 120-person managerial leadership programs. Tim is the principal consultant at Emerging Leaders Institute.

He has a Master's of Science of Organizational Leadership as well as certifications in various OD tools and instruments. Tim is a coach who knows how to develop the potential of the people he mentors. He has coached Presidents/CEO's down through middle managers. He has a knack for creative design and the execution of organizational learning experiences, which are memorable, and help transfer learning to rising leaders’ hearts and minds. Tim also has the ability to uncover the truth about the culture of an organization’s leadership that illuminates the way to healthy leader development. In addition to highly creative means of teaching, he has taught in more traditional settings at the collegiate level and other adult environments for over 12 years.

Tim is married to Anna Luz Edris and resides in Beaver Falls, PA. He is bi-lingual in sign language and English. In his spare time he helps coach collegiate soccer, another one of his passions, at Geneva College. He also is the father of two beautiful little girls.
